Xantaro joins Jisc Framework to support next-gen connectivity

Xantaro has joined the Jisc Network Solutions Framework in a move that will help support next-generation connectivity across the UK education and research sector.

The agreement means that Xantaro has been awarded Lot 9 (Nokia) and Lot 24 (Precision Optical Technologies) on the newly launched framework, which officially began at the beginning of June 2025 and will run for two years, with two optional one-year extensions.

Jisc members will now have streamlined access to the full suite of Nokia and Precision Optical Technologies solutions, supported by Xantaro’s technical expertise and service experience.

Stuart Smith, Client Director of Public Sector & Enterprise at Xantaro said: "Being awarded a place on the Jisc Network Solutions Framework is a significant milestone for Xantaro.

“Jisc's framework is designed to provide access to the best products for the needs of the UK's education and research sector and we're proud to be included as a mark of the trust that can be placed in Xantaro to provide exactly what the sector needs.”

Jisc is a membership organisation that delivers digital solutions for UK education and research including the digital infrastructure and shared services that inform, protect, and promote these sectors.

It operates the Janet network, the UK’s national research and education network. Its frameworks are accessible not only to members, but also to other eligible organisations connected to Janet — including Local Authorities, Research Councils, and Regional Broadband Consortia

The Jisc Network Solutions Framework offers a compliant route to market for institutions across higher education, further education, and UK research.

“Xantaro being added to Jisc Network Solutions Framework should help more of the UK’s institutions access Nokia equipment to expand their networks, and the company’s understanding (of our technology) makes them a strong partner for enabling network deployments in education and research,” concluded Paul Alexander, Vice President and Country General Manager of UK&I, Nokia.
