Virgin Media O2 is helping more than 12,000 additional homes in Sleaford access the company’s gigabit broadband services for the first time, including signing up to services that offer top speeds of 2Gbps.
The services are now available to more homes locally after work to bring full fibre connections to the area has been completed.
The network has been built on behalf of nexfibre, which invested £4.5bn in delivering high speed FTTH connections to homes across the UK, with recent connections meaning it has reached a total of 2.3m premises passed and ready for service.
Rajiv Datta, CEO at nexfibre said: “nexfibre’s multi-million pound investment in Sleaford will enable thousands of households to access the benefits of full fibre broadband, including being able to participate in the local economy and connect with the community.”
Virgin Media’s fibre upgrade activity continues at pace, with a gigabit broadband footprint spanning 18m premises and a total fibre footprint with nexfibre recently surpassing 7m premises nationwide.
