More than 11,000 homes and businesses in Braintree can now access Virgin Media’s gigabit broadband services for the first time.

Flixborough is the next rural community being addressed by Quickline’s network rollout, with almost 200 homes and more than 400 businesses set to have access to fibre for the first time.
The rollout will pass premises in Lodge Lane, High Street and Burton Road and extend to the neighbouring hamlet of Normanby.
Quickline states that half of the households in the area pre-registered their interest and the first customers are now being connected.
Chris Akrill, Head of Fibre Operations, said: “Having fast and easy internet access is now an essential part of daily life and we’re here to ensure it’s a reality for rural internet users.”
The rollout is part of an ongoing programme in outlying communities across North Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire and North and West Yorkshire.
