Wayleave specialist Legal Firm Trenches Law has applied to Ofcom seeking Code Powers in a move to accelerate fibre distribution in Multi Dwelling Units (MDUs).

Trenches Law has secured Code powers as it looks to take a more active role in assisting the deployment of fibre distribution networks within MDUs and MBUs
According to its application, Trenches Law intends to obtain wayleaves from freeholders, survey the premises and install fibre distribution networks within them with support from contractors.
It will then work to assign the wayleaves to other Code operators and allow them to take ownership of the fibre distribution networks, extending their FTTP networks into the premises.
