Hyperoptic has partnered with Islington Council and will connect more than 90% of its homes and businesses by August 2025.

This contract represents around 30,000 residential homes, 10% of which will recieve 12 months free broadband, through the Affordable Product Scheme.

The Clerkenwell area will be connected first with the first connections to be made within the next three months.

Hyperoptic will also connect more than 50 community hubs across Islington and support the Council’s ‘100 hours of work’ scheme, driving employment opportunities across the borough.

Dana Tobak, CEO at Hyperoptic, said: “This partnership will make a huge difference to people living and working in Islington and we’re working with Islington Council to ensure that the right broadband plan is available for all of its residents.”

Cllr Una O’Halloran, Executive Member for Homes and Communities at Islington Council, added: “Fast, reliable internet is an important part of our work to make Islington a more equal borough.

“We are also pleased that this partnership with Hyperoptic will create apprenticeships and job opportunities in the borough.”
