BT has been awarded a £26m Project Gigabit contract to connect over 650 primary schools in hard-to-reach places across England with gigabit broadband.

Openreach has completed a partnership with Superfast Essex, which has reached an additional 3,559 rural homes and businesses across the county.
The Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP was on site to witness the engineering techniques being used by Openreach.
This project was funded by The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs’ Rural Development Programme for England, the South East Local Enterprise Partnership and the Getting Building Fund.
This is in addition to the work being done by Openreach through its commercial investment in Essex, which has now brought fibre to more than 320,000 homes and businesses across Essex.
Kieran Wines, Openreach’s Partnership Director for the east of England said: “Our engineers work hard every day to keep communities across Essex and the wider region connected, and it was great to be able to share the challenges and realities of delivering this technology.”
