The number of homes able to get gigabit-capable broadband is up to 24.0 million (80% of all UK homes), according to Ofcom’s Connected Nations Spring 2024 update. This is up 78%, from 23.2 million since its update in September 2023.
Gigaclear has doubled its customer base in the last two years, connecting its 75,000th customer back in April.
The altnet celebrated by bringing flowers to the milestone customer, Jean Heath MBE from Oxfordshire, and donating to one of her favourite charities, Sunshine Cat Rescue.
